Contrary to the advertisement and specifications, these batteries seem to be woefully underpowered for 6 cylinder engines. It would not even turn my Lycoming engine over, voltage in the battery dropped to 5V upon engaging the starter motor... Current requirement for my engine is 260 amps continuous draw during starting, which should have been well within the 500CCA advertised.

I'm loving this battery in my One Design, 180HP Lyc. I run with no alternator so I use the aerovoltz charging system regularly. As a test I did 3 second cranks (mags off) wait 10 seconds and repeat. Wanted to know just how many start attempts I can get. On the 21st attempt it was unable to turn the engine over, I'll never be 21 starts away from a charging outlet!!! Did let the battery rest for a few minutes and was able to get another 3 second crank out of it. No issues with cold operations either, just crank, wait for the electrons to flow, then you will get a solid start, warm days works great. This was a great way to loose 19 lbs off my airplane.

Haven't tried with a six cylinder as the other review had done, but will be putting one in a Bearhawk with an O-540 soon, will report back.
